The Appeal

The Fiat 500 L (for “Lusso”) offered a higher level of refinement than the standard version, with an upgraded interior finish and additional equipment that made it the era’s most sought-after choice.

In coral red, this 1970 specimen was restored in 2020 by Giovanni Errante, a Palermitan (Sicily) renowned for years as a Fiat 500 specialist and respected across generations. Described as his final project before retirement, the restoration included a high-quality interior and exterior repaint according to the seller. Mr. Errante also designed a matching prototype trailer, a one-off piece that adds charm and versatility to the overall package.

As Mr. Errante did, the car, since its import to France in 2022, has been parked under a cover in a closed garage, used sparingly and mainly for summer theatrical drives. Vehicle upkeep has always been handled by the former president of the Fiat 500 Club of Auvergne. Recent work includes: engine and gearbox oil changes, centrifugal filter cleaning, and replacement of brake drums and linings at 31,052 km.

The seller states that the mechanical side is in very good running condition and the car starts reliably even after several months of inactivity. With its original Italian booklet provided, a solid invoices file, proper serial numbers, and a set of spare parts supplied, this Cinquecento and its uniquely styled trailer make for a particularly attractive and entertaining package.
