The Appeal

The Datsun 240Z needs no introduction. Launched in 1969, it combined striking coupe styling with a potent inline six-cylinder engine and responsive chassis, delivering a driving experience that rivaled European sports cars at a fraction of the price. Today, the 240Z is one of the most sought-after Japanese classics, and good examples are becoming increasingly hard to find at accessible prices.

This 1972 example was found in California and imported to France in 2015, where it has remained in the same owner's hands for approximately 11 years. During this time, it has benefited from a comprehensive mechanical program covering suspension, brakes, cooling system, and accessories.

There are areas requiring attention—notably corrosion on the front frame rails, some rust spots on the bodywork, and interior trim that could use refreshing—but replacement panels and parts are readily available from specialist suppliers, and as it stands there's plenty of character to admire.
