The Appeal
Thanks to BMC's eye for austerity, the Mini has become the stuff of legend for modification and customisation. Few if any cars have seen so many motorsport conversions, fuelled by the platform's already impressive agility and perky persona. This 1979 Clubman-front example has been rebuilt from a bare shell with a specification that reads like a motorsport wish list.
The shell has been stiffened with a weld-in roll cage tied to the front subframe mounting points, while weight has been stripped out wherever possible using fibreglass and aluminium panels alongside lightened steel components. The engine has been built and tuned to deliver strong performance, and the suspension setup has been carefully dialled in. Uprated braking components and a range of safety provisions complete the package. We're told that the car is beyond enjoyable on the road but is aching for competitive use; it's yet to see true track conditions, and we've no doubt it'll reward them handsomely!PXL_20260731_095059594 Grant Keightley.jpg2.83 MB
