The Appeal
The MGB GT has been one of the world’s most popular sports cars for decades. It’s not an exaggeration to say that the classic car scene we know today was partly developed around the MGB. The GT model represents a particularly handsome and practical coupe variant of this evergreen classic.
But what if you’re looking for a little more excitement and a little more individuality than a regular MGB? Well, this particular “restomod” style MGB GT could be exactly what you’re looking for.
Re-powered with a reliable and well-supported 2.0 Vauxhall XE 16v engine, in place of the original 1.8 B-series engine, and coupled to a five-speed gearbox, this is one MGB that can very easily keep pace with modern traffic
Couple those mechanical upgrades with complementary suspension modifications and all steel “Sebring” inspired bodywork, and you have an MGB that stands apart from the pack.
The History and Paperwork

The Condition
- The car presents well with a tidy exterior and interior in line with a recently restored and modified car: “paint job has been done fairly recently, and I got some work done to improve some minor imperfections. Inside, it’s in lovely condition”
- Outside the car benefits from “Sebring” style modifications, including being de-bumpered and the addition of flared wheel arches to accommodate wider wheels and tyres. Seller informs us that there is “no fibreglass on the body at all”
- The car’s interior appears clean and tidy with an aftermarket GPS speedo fitted and the common period specification of a folding Webasto roof
- Photos of the car’s undercarriage suggest an extremely solid and structurally sound car, with the seller stating that, “the car is immaculate underneath and does not require any welding"
- Overall, the car presents as a very tidy and nicely executed “restomod” MGB GT
