The Appeal
The Porsche 911 needs little introduction, having maintained and developed its carefully honed blend of performance, driving involvement and usability since being introduced in 1964. The '80s 'flavor' of 911 remains highly sought-after, and this car is a fine example of a Carrera in Guards Red, benefitting from a restoration in the last decade and upgrades to enhance its performance and appearance.
When the car was restored in 2016, it received an uprated 3.2-liter engine as well as a G50 5-speed gearbox. It has been fitted with a Turbo rear wing, 964 bumpers and rear reflector panel, and was resprayed by renowned classic car restorers Carrosserie. Black cross-spoke wheels with silver rims have also been added.
The interior is largely original, except for the front seats which are of the 'high back' type from a later 911. The seller describes the Targa top and concertina mechanism as being in full working order.
The seller bought the car in 2023 and has since spent more than $11,000 USD equivalent, including a clutch rebuild, new drive shaft and wheel bearings. The seller states that the car has been kept in a temperature-controlled garage and has been regularly serviced during their ownership. They recently completed the NC500 and attended the 2026 Le Mans Classic, covering a stated 2,500 miles without issue. They say, "It gets a great deal of attention at our local Porsche meets from those attending".
