The Appeal
There are many, many reasons why the later 328 is considered the ‘sweet spot’ in the long development of Ferrari’s mid-engined icon. It is more powerful than the cars that went before, with updated and more modern aesthetics and the last of the classic ‘analogue’ cockpits.
This 1987 328 GTB Berlinetta takes the appeal a big step further. It is an early ‘Series 1’ car, otherwise known amongst aficionados as a ‘pre-ABS’ car. Just 77 of these cars were built in RHD and are sought-after because the lack of ABS means they have sharper, crisper steering than later cars and retain the pretty flat concave ‘star’ alloys. This car’s chassis number confirms that it was built in mid-1987, is one of those 77 and also has the desirable European non-catalysed and more powerful version of the magnificent Tipo F105 Dino V8 that can trace its lineage back to Ferrari’s 1950s racers.
Finished in classic Rosso Corsa with Nero black leather cabin and red carpets, it is a really well presented car that looks barely a fraction of its 39 years. It is a low-mileage car, displaying just 35,307 miles in photos, which is documented in the large history file. We’re told the service book shows 25 stamps from new. In 2026 alone it received over £10,000 of servicing and maintenance work including the all-important cambelt. The work was done by Ferrari specialist R&D Automotive and included front callipers, exhaust repairs and attention to the electrics. The current MOT runs to December 2026 with no advisories. Looking back through the MOT history shows no advisories on any test back to 2007.
The car is supplied with its vital complete tool roll, jack kit, bulb pack and handbooks. Few cars occupy the status of Ferrari’s 328. This car has the rarity, specification and condition to genuinely stand out.image.png4.55 MB

There is something very right about a 328 GTB in Rosso Corsa with Nero leather, especially when the car is as well kept as this one. These later cars received updated bumpers plus a small body colour spoiler above the rear window. Elsewhere, the car retains its correct and desirable flat ‘star’ alloys, which are fitted with quality Pirelli tyres and in very good order.
Inside the cabin is factory correct and unmodified save for a modern Blaupunkt DAB stereo that fits the car’s retro style. There is also a set of 328GTB badged mats.image.png3.5 MB

Vendor advises 25 service book stamps
You only have to take a look at this car’s online MOT history to confirm that it has been properly looked after. Running back to 2007, there have been no advisories - the test before that only noted advisories for tyres. That history also supports the low displayed mileage.
This 1987 car is the one you want. As well as being a pre-ABS model, it is a factory-supplied European specification non-cat model, so output is a healthy 270bhp, a major increase over the previous 308.
The vendor tells us that the service book shows 25 stamps. The photos show notable invoices, including over £10,000 invested at Ferrari specialist R&D Automotive in 2026. That work included the all-important cambelt change, new front callipers, exhaust and electrical repairs and a full service.
