The Appeal
The 996-generation GT2 occupies a fearsome position in the Porsche 911 hierarchy. Stripped of the Turbo's front differential, traction control and stability control, and gifted with more power from its twin-turbocharged 'Mezger' flat-six, the GT2 was a car built for drivers who wanted nothing between themselves and the road. Just 1,287 were produced across the model's four-year run, and of those, a mere 129 were delivered in right-hand-drive form for the UK market.
This 2003 example is a comfort-specification car finished in Arctic Silver over a black leather interior with Alcantara headlining. The odometer shows 39,439 miles, and the car has been maintained by official Porsche centres from new, with the stamped service book recording visits to Porsche Centres in Chester, Bournemouth, Portsmouth, Reading and, most recently, Brooklands. Recent mechanical attention has included new suspension and brake components, a geometry check and the replacement of the turbo boost actuator.
Carrying the rather fitting 'GT02 YEH' registration, this is a rare opportunity to acquire one of Porsche's most highly regarded modern-era supercars in well-documented, well-maintained order.
