The Appeal
Japanese car enthusiasts are lucky, lucky people because they get the cars the rest of us can only hope for. Like this Starlet Glanza V, a brilliant giant-killing featherweight hot hatch and one of the best performance Toyotas of the last 30 years.
The statistics speak for themselves: 900kg and 140bhp from its turbocharged 1.3L 4EFTE engine make the Glanza hugely entertaining. No wonder the current keeper of this silver 1998 car, who bought it in 2015, has used it as his daily driver over the intervening 11 years. He is only the third keeper since it arrived here from Japan in 2010. The car is largely standard save for some light modifications, notably the Rota Grid alloy wheels, a turbo timer and a TOAD alarm.
With MOT to November, a good history file, and two keys, this Glanza V is well placed for an enthusiast who wants to enjoy it, refine it, or simply use it as it is.
The vendor says:
“Overall, a good running 98 Glanza V. A brilliant entry into the starlet scene. No funny mods, so an excellent investment piece or canvas for a big power build or reliable daily driver. Ready to drive away with plenty of history and 2 keys.”
