The Appeal
The 2015 Volvo V60 Polestar is a bit of an outlier; a fast, under-the-radar wagon that goes up against the usual German performance estates in its own way. It runs a 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six pushing out 345hp and 369lb-ft of torque, which is enough to get it from 0–60 mph in about 4.8 seconds. Power goes through a six-speed automatic and an all-wheel-drive system tuned by Polestar, giving it a planted, confident feel.
What really sets it apart, though, is how much work went into the chassis. It comes with manually adjustable Öhlins dampers, 20-inch wheels, and serious Brembo front brakes with six-piston calipers. It’s not just about straight-line speed, it’s built to handle properly.
It was also pretty rare from the start, with only around 80 cars allocated to the UK and about 120 for the US, which adds to its appeal. You still get the usual Volvo strengths; solid safety tech and a practical 430-litre boot, but the overall vibe is much more playful. With its more aggressive styling and surprisingly loud engine note, it feels like a proper sleeper, just with a bit more personality than most.
Finding one at all is a challenge; finding one showing just 2,914 miles is something else entirely. This Black Sapphire Metallic example was originally sourced from Japan and has been further protected with a recent Lanoguard underbody treatment. The vendor describes the bodywork as laser-straight with factory panel gaps, and the interior, finished in leather and Alcantara with Polestar blue stitching, as presenting much as it would have when new.
The car has been professionally converted and optimised for UK use, and an Apple CarPlay system has been installed. Mechanically, the Polestar-tuned six-cylinder delivers its power through a Haldex four-wheel-drive system, complemented by manually adjustable Öhlins dampers, carbon-fibre sway bars, and Brembo six-piston callipers. It comes to market with a recent service and an advisory-free MOT, marking a rare opportunity to acquire one of Volvo's finest performance cars in a condition that may well be unmatched.
