Description
Just Arrived at The Garage
1947 MG TC fitted with Eaton Supercharger
The MG TC has long been regarded as one of the definitive British sports cars of its era. With its purposeful stance, rear slab-type fuel tank, long sweeping wings and lively performance, it captured the imagination of post-war motoring enthusiasts. During the “export or die” years, demand from North America was so strong that home-market buyers often faced lengthy waiting lists.
This 1947 example was supplied new to South Africa. Repatriated to the UK in 1986, it subsequently received a major, high-quality restoration. In recent years, it has been in the hands of an enthusiastic and knowledgeable engineer owner who invested considerable time and expense to tailor the car for relaxed, long-distance touring - including the fitment of an Eaton supercharger supplied by Steve Baker. A full list of enhancements will follow below.
The detailed specification is extremely impressive, delivering excellent performance, vivid acceleration and the engaging character that defines a true driver’s car.
