There are good reasons why British gangsters favoured S-Types when it came to making a getaway from the cops. Fitted with the Mk2’s flexible 3.8-litre engine producing 220 bhp and the E-Type’s independent rear suspension, it was quicker and more nimble than any other four-door saloon of the era. It was, quite simply, a four-door E-Type.
However, they were built in very small numbers, and today the surviving cars are extremely rare. We’re therefore delighted to present this beautiful 1965 S-Type in excellent condition, finished in a particularly desirable specification. Visually, it pairs classic Old English White with a black leather interior, and under the bonnet is the famed 3.8-litre XK engine, matched to a fully synchronised four-speed manual gearbox with the coveted overdrive.
This car was restored a few years ago, and even today it still looks in terrific shape. You can see it’s always been cared for properly by its four previous owners—the last of whom has been with it since 2010.
We’ve been assured it’s in excellent condition and is offered with an MOT valid until March 2028. This is a truly remarkable example of an outstanding saloon.
The seller told us:
