There are good reasons why British gangsters preferred to use S-Types to escape pursuit. Equipped with the Mk2's supple 3.8-litre engine with 220 bhp and the E-Type's independent rear suspension, it was faster and more agile than any other four-door saloon of the era. It was truly a four-door E-Type.
Yet it was produced in very small numbers, and today the remaining examples are very rare. We are therefore delighted to present this beautiful 1965 S-Type, in excellent condition and in a particularly desirable trim. Aesthetically, it combines classic Old English White livery with a black leather interior, while under the bonnet is the famous 3.8-litre XK engine mated to a fully synchronised four-speed manual gearbox with the coveted overdrive.
This car was restored a few years ago, but looking at it today it still looks in great shape. It has visibly always been kept with great care by its four previous owners, the last of whom has kept it with him since 2010.
We have been assured that it is in excellent condition and is being sold with an MOT valid until March 2028. This is a truly remarkable example of an exceptional saloon.
The seller told us:
"A rare specimen, a Jaguar saloon equipped with the 3.8 engine, renowned for its performance; elegant, curvaceous, comfortable and maintained and preserved with nothing short of obsessive care."image.png2.1 MB
