The appeal
For discerning 911 enthusiasts, it all starts here. The 911 S, built on the SWB platform from 1967 to 1969, was the first Porsche offered in a faster, livelier and more stable version. This car introduced an innovation that would prove decisive for the later evolution of the line and its image as the archetypal sports car. It was also the first to be fitted with that quintessentially Porsche accessory: Fuchs wheels.
The S received a pair of Weber 40 carburettors that raised output from 130 to 160 hp. Brake discs improved stopping power, while a stiffer anti-roll bar sharpened the handling. Only 1,823 coupés were built between 1967 and 1969, each fitted with a five-speed "dogleg" manual gearbox, offered as an option.
This example was delivered new in France through Sonauto, Porsche's official importer in France, and is believed to have had relatively few registered owners during its life. It received a mechanical overhaul in 2009, and its bodywork was restored in its original Ivory finish in 2011 following damage. With 38,521 km shown on the odometer, the car is described as being in good overall condition, although the seller indicates it would benefit from further refurbishment to reach a higher standard.
For the knowledgeable Porsche enthusiast, this is an opportunity to acquire a rare, sought-after classic 911 with French history and scope for a sympathetic restoration. 911S-3-4 face avg.jpg4.62 MB

The very first 911s come closest to Ferdinand Porsche's vision, if only through their SWB architecture. This format demands skill behind the wheel, yet makes these some of the most beautiful of all air-cooled versions, with a remarkable aesthetic balance.
This car was restored in its original Ivory finish in 2011. Externally, the chrome elements are presentable and the Fuchs wheels specific to the 911 S are in good condition.
