The Appeal
The marriage of MG’s svelte B with a C-Series straight six similar to the outgoing Big Healey’s created one of the best sports tourers of the 60s. Overlooked for many years, these rare cars are now getting the attention they deserve. And for good reason, no other classic of the time quite matches their mix of British style, comfort and scarcity.
Built in early 1969, this car was originally one of the 3,100 LHD roadsters. It returned to the UK in 1993, where it received a comprehensive restoration. Paperwork from the time, produced by Bromsgrove MG Centre, rates the car as ‘concours’ across all areas. In the intervening years, it has clearly been treated well because its classic British Racing Green paintwork and black leather cabin continue to present very well. It is fitted with desirable overdrive.
The vendor is only the car’s third UK keeper, having acquired it in late 2024. Since then, he has spent over £6,000 on maintenance with classic-car specialists. Work has included servicing, electrical repairs, fitting an electronic ignition, brake attention, wiring repairs, and carburettor overhauls.
With its high-quality restoration and recent investment, this tidy MGC presents well for the buyer.
