The Appeal

The Golf GTI wasn't a new idea, but the Simca 1100 TI definitely was. With its 1.3L Poissy engine producing 82 bhp, borrowed from the company's 1000 Rallye, this car pioneered the "hot hatch" concept, offering family buyers an extremely fun car that exploited the nimble chassis of the 1100.

Today, these cars are rare but well-remembered, as evidenced by the long-time current owner of this car – it attracts plenty of attention when out on the road. This may also be due to its yellow paint which makes it so easily recognisable. Inside and out, it's in good condition, with a light patina that no doubt adds character.

We're told it passed from its first owner – the selling dealer's brother-in-law – to a friend, before the current owner acquired it in 2010 with just under 78,000 km on the clock. It was subsequently registered as a historic/classic vehicle. Now showing 83,500 km, it comes to market with a valid roadworthy certificate until July 2031. An excellent example of an important and very rare sports saloon.

Hello, Thanks for your reply. I'm familiar with front wind deflectors as I've fitted them to one of my cars – they let you crack the windows open without getting blasted by wind, even when it's raining (since those old-style vent windows disappeared from cars these days) – but I'm not sure about this system on the rear. As for the photos, I can wait, no problem. Cheers
