The Appeal
Here is a chance to capitalise on the extensive investment undertaken by the current keeper of this handsome Silver Blue metallic R107. He bought it as a project in 2014 and has carefully brought it back to the standard you can see in the photos. It’s one of the nicest specified pre-facelift R107s that we’ve seen in a long while.
The attractive paintwork is matched by a well-kept hard top and hardwearing blue checked fabric interior which is in quite remarkable condition. Even the Zebrano wood veneers, often susceptible to heat cracking, present well. There is also a nice set of optional Mexican Hat alloys with matching spare. Underside, perhaps as expected, the structure has been properly undersealed and protected. The factory-correct blue roof was replaced in May this year.
With 107,000 miles on the odometer, the 2.8L straight six M110 engine is barely run in. The history file shows a run of main dealer servicing into the mid 90s. There is also a large and well organised history file, which we’ve shown in the photos.
This low-keeper car is now usefully MOT and tax exempt. However, there is a recent voluntary MOT to provide transparency for buyers - it ran to January 2026 with no advisories.
With careful ownership evident throughout, this 280 SL is well worth a closer look for those seeking a usable R107.image.png3.87 MB
