For many enthusiasts, the 'X350' series of Jaguar XJs produced from 2002 to 2009 was the Jaguar marque's last major classic saloon, and the last model to retain the traditional four-headlamp front end and dynamic side lines that have distinguished the marque since the debut of the first XJ in 1968.
This generation was enthusiastically received by the motoring press when it was launched, thanks to its satisfying ride and excellent road-holding combined with surprisingly low fuel consumption and advanced technology for the time.
This car is a truly stunning specimen. A V8 Sovereign with a 4.2-litre engine, it is the most luxurious long-wheelbase version of the X350. Its extreme elegance has a reason, for its first owner was Arnaud Bamberger, the former British CEO of watch and jewellery manufacturer Cartier. The car even retains the V9 AMB number plate, which he requested when he bought it.
It was his until 2014 and has had only one other owner since then, having covered a total of 66,000 miles. Finished in Ebony black with a subtle red stripe, it is a striking and awe-inspiring car.
The car is in excellent condition, having been kept in perfect shape and driven by a chauffeur for most of its life, and the almost new engine is an added bonus, having covered only a few miles since it was installed.
