The Appeal
The 997-generation GT3 RS is the last of its breed to combine the motorsport-derived "Mezger" flat-six engine, a six-speed manual gearbox, and pure hydraulic power steering, a trifecta of analogue driving purity that subsequent generations, with their PDK transmissions and electrically assisted steering, would never replicate. With only around 1,168 Phase 1 examples built, the 997.1 GT3 RS was rare from the outset, and as a 2009-registered car, this is one of the very last to leave the production line before the Phase 2 facelift took over.
This example has been in the hands of a single owner since new and is presented in the iconic RS Orange livery with a factory specification that includes the extended Clubsport and carbon packs, PCCB carbon ceramic brakes, and the Sport Chrono package. Inside, the black Alcantara cabin is punctuated by orange accents to the roll cage, centre tunnel, and dashboard.
The vendor informs us that the car is in superb condition, having been preserved with the utmost care throughout its life, and reports that it still wears its original tyres. Ahead of sale, a major service has been carried out within the Porsche dealer network, with a clean PIWIS diagnostic report to accompany it. Both keys are included.
For the discerning collector seeking one of the most celebrated analogue Porsches ever made, in a striking factory specification and with single-ownership provenance, this represents a particularly desirable example.
