6092 mls Indicated // UK Registered // 4 Previous Owners // Really Rare US Import X-75
Now here is something special! This is an incredibly rare X-75, with matching engine and frame numbers that is in beautiful condition.
The X-75 was designed to be something to succeed in the US market, and engineer Craig Vetter was unleashed on the a US market BSA/ Triumph Rocket 3. Upon it’s reception in the US, Triumph management was underwhelmed by the BSA/ Triumph Rocket 3, and the knew that the X-75 would have to be something really special, and if it couldn’t lead on refinement it could at least lead in style and performance. The outcome X-75 was a ‘factory special’ of the Triumph Tridant that was designed to be more streamlined, lower, more sleek and balanced. It was heralded as inventing the new ‘cruiser’ category of the market, and was seen as too trendy for the UK market. When it was eventually released in the UK, only 1200 were manufactured before production ceased due to new US engine noise regulations. So all in all, the X-75 had only one year of UK production.
This bike is something striking, and it is a looker. It has a classic look, but it is very sleek, with long low poise, and lower gearing for more punch around town. The bright orange paint with the white striping really sets this bike off, and the stacked triple exhausts that fan out from the link pipe look amazing. Everything is beautiful and clean, with a very low mileage. This is a real collectors item, and is the chance to own a really limited slice of motorcycle history- one that created an entirely new type of motorcycle.
