Again, just arrived, and something just a little different for the BMW Airhead fans.
This is an early R80, that has been set up as a real riders bike.
The most obvious upgrade is a full, genuine BMW, RS fairing, complete with a very unusual 4 x clock dash. As well as the usual clock and voltmeter, it houses both oil pressure and temp. gauges. The previous owner has also made the electrics much more user friendly by moving the hard to reach relays up into the back of the fairing.
The bike is also dripping in quality extras. It seems that just about every piece of stainless steel accessory available for these BMWs has been fitted.
These include, full stainless exhaust system, every nut, bolt, and engine plug / filler, wheel spindles, engine mounts, battery tray, etc, etc. Rear shocks are Koni dial a rides, and fitted with, you guessed it, stainless shrouds. Handling has been improved up front with the fitting of a San Jose braced top yolk, and stopping is taken care of by twin Brembo calipers, quite rare on those spoked wheels. It also includes those genuine BMW panniers.
We’ve loads on at the moment, so i’ve not had chance to give the bike a good ride out, but she’s off the button, hot or cold, with great oil pressure, no smoke, and charging well.
We’ll get a good look at her next week, but she’ll come with a fresh MOT, oil service, and ready to go, so please feel free to register early interest.
