YSU 405 as an early 100/ 6 was built at the Longbridge factory on 29th December 1956 as a European specification car for delivery to Dusseldorf, Germany. All Longbridge built cars featured a beautiful ridged bonnet, lost on later cars due to cost implications.
Today the car is feature in Healey Blue metallic – its original colour – with Ivory Duotone. Rawles Motorsport Ltd in 2013 under took a full bare metal repaint of all exterior panels, with 5 coats of base colour and 5 coats of lacquer, at the same time rebuilding the original numbers engine to a fast road 2. 6 specification with AH2 camshaft and triple Webbers.
Additional Rawles Motorsport upgrades to the car include our stainless low-noise side exhaust plus our 5-speed gearbox conversion. To summarise YSU 405 is a very high specification Healey, with significant expenditure with ourselves in its current ownership from 2010 documented in a large paperwork file, with affirming It as a well sorted car.
