This 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 2. 7 MFI is in Grand Prix White with Blue/ Black tweed.

This Carrera is from the Reggie Jackson collection.

A very rare and desirable European-spec 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 2. 7 MFI Coupe featuring its matching numbers, 210-horsepower, 2. 7-litre 911/ 83 engine made famous by the prior 1973 Carrera 2. 7 RS homologation special.

This 1974 Euro-spec Carrera is one of those fortunate models that retains the same performance, feel, and driving enjoyment as the earlier RS. It was delivered from the factory to Nordrhein of Düsseldorf on November 21, 1973, and thence to its first owner. The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity confirms that this is a matching-numbers car that left the factory in Grand Prix White paint (R4) over blue-black leatherette with tweed fabric seat inserts (15).

It was fitted with Koni shock absorbers and 911 S brakes with aluminum alloy calipers and optional 7J and 8J by 15-inch Fuchs forged alloy wheels mounted with Dunlop 195/ 70-15 and 215/ 60-15 tires, a package that neatly filled the flared front fenders and widened rear quarters.

Specifications: 2, 687 cc air-cooled, SOHC horizontally-opposed six-cylinder engine, Bosch mechanical fuel-injection, 210 bhp at 6, 300 rpm, five-speed manual gearbox in rear transaxle, four-wheel independent suspension, and four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes. (Wheelbase: 89. 4”)

Highlights:

•One of 1, 036 European-specification 1974 Carrera Coupes
•Retaining matching numbers; includes Porsche Certificate of Authenticity
•Recorded history of ownership and provenance; includes service records
•Restored in Germany

We are told the car was used by its original owner as his daily driver until April of 1987, by which time it had covered 147, 712 kilometers (approx. 91, 875 miles). Thereafter, it was used only sparingly over the next few years. The vehicle was then apparently taken off the road until 2009, when it was sold to renowned German 911 specialist Manfred Niederhof.

The car underwent a three-year cosmetic restoration by Niederhof and is powered by its rebuilt, magnesium-cased, mechanically fuel-injected Type 911/ 83 engine, with matching-numbers rebuilt magnesium gearbox.

The interior is all original, including the dashboard. Original options include, power windows, forged alloy wheels, and “sunroof delete.”

When looking at the underside of the car all of the factory undercoating is present. No visible evidence of any damage.

- This car belonged to a collector in Southern California then most recently changed hands in 2016 to its current owner.

- The car has attended such events as Greystone Manor (2014), Palos Verdes (2014), and La Jolla (2015) Concours d’Elegance, where it was shown.

- It is also a PCA Class and Divisional winner, including Best in Class awards in 2014 and in 2015.

The car is an attractive high end driver with high quality paint in excellent condition. With the exception of some small nicks on the lower front bumper, the paint shows virtually no flaws. The body is straight and solid with excellent fit and gaps. The trim is very good to excellent, with minor wear and only minor aging. The glass and lights are excellent.

Great driving and good syncro's in all gears. Strong power and a great sound from the famed 2. 7 RS power-plant.

A wonderful opportunity to own this 1974 in classic RS colors, sunroof delete, iconic “ducktail” spoiler, and expert German restoration.

Accompanied by its Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, the service records and tools will be presented to the new owner.
