In Mid-Bronze green.
This Minor van was one of 40-60 used by the Prison through the Home Office that were used to ferry items to the prisons. This particular vehicle was at HMP Corby and the file includes a copy of the first Registration Document in the name of Home Office Supply and Transport BR, Crown House, Corby and it is registered as a Crown Vehicle. The chassis plate is on the correct location on the passenger front door and the number is MAV5 2976F.
The interior seems to have had light use and even retains the folding passenger seat. Carpets have been added at some stage.
The van was sold at Ruddington Auctions in 1978 and the new owner partially stripped it for restoration before it went into store for many years until it was eventually restored in 2005. The engine was replaced in 2013 and has covered 3, 000 miles since.
We have re-commissioned the Minor after a period of little use and painted the wheels Old English White because we thought that they looked good against the green bodywork. They should really be grey.
