Built on 12th May 1960 and finished in the very rare and very striking colour scheme of Nevada Beige with Red interior/ seating with a black hood. This Mk1 Healey 'Frogeye' Sprite, a UK RHD car was sold by J W Stocks Limited, Birmingham and still wears its original registration of ‘128 BOL’ as displayed by its original green buff logbook, first registered on 1st June 1960.
Previously a well known hill climb car, this sprite has been modified with a fibreglass bonnet and rear shroud with boot, a twin carb engine plus a roll cage (easily removed). The car is very complete with the exception of the seats (readily available, thrown away as unstable). The drivers door is dented so an original spare is provided if you do not wish to repair. A rear wood panel between the cockpit and boot has been installed to add a speaker (still present) wired up to the very nice period radio in the dash. In our ownership for around 10 years, sat in dry warm storage. All instruments present and brightwork. Original seatbelts with stickers, additional Lucas lamp, boot rack plus lots of nice original and period features.
This car does not run but does roll very easily. It will require total restoration (see condition description for more) with major repairs or replacement to body and chassis panels plus full driveline rebuild. Engine and gearbox all there, nothing appears to be missing. Perfect donor car for full restoration as a rare UK RHD car.
The car is provided with lots of paperwork plus period extras including a British Motor Heritage Certificate of Authenticity, it's original logbook, continuation book, original keys and very rare original keyring/ fob, plus a 1970s fuel rationing booklet and more. On and older type V5 but all needed to register is present and since its MOT exempt easily updated. Still retains great original registration '128 BOL'.
