EXTERIOR
The special order Midnight Blue Metallic paintwork is supremely glossy all round with hardly a blemish to report. There are very few stone chips at the front end, no car park dings along either side, and there’s almost no road rash to those voluptuous rear hips. The entire car appears really fresh throughout, free from any unsightly scratches and with all items of trim appearing in excellent fettle.
INTERIOR
The interior is trimmed in complementing dark blue leather. The upholstery is notably supple, the driver’s seat showing only the lightest of wear. Both the steering wheel and gear knob are without any major signs of use and there’s no marking to either the dash or switchgear, all of which operates without fault. The only non-standard item to report is a tastefully upgraded stereo with USB and Bluetooth connectivity; an original Porsche cassette radio is included with the sale.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
993s were the last 911 to feature Porsche’s classic air-cooled design, and with a six-speed manual ‘box as standard it really is no surprise they’ve become such a hit with collectors and enthusiasts alike. The ‘94 3. 6-litre Carrera produces a healthy 268hp, with 0-60 achieved in little over five seconds; the naturally aspirated, rear-wheel drive combo really is the pick of the bunch. Better still this example boasts the desirable factory limited-slip diff option.
The car has clearly been cherished all its life, boasting an excellent maintenance record from new despite its low mileage of just 51k miles. The last service was carried out in November 2018 by Heritage AutoWerks. A recent inspection upon arrival at 4 Star shows the car to be in fine mechanical fettle.
WHEELS, TYRES AND BRAKES
The 993 sits on 18-inch ‘Turbo Twist’ lightweight alloys that fill the arches nicely. The wheels are extremely well presented and show no curb marking to the rims. They are finished with coloured Porsche crests and are wrapped in matching N-rated Bridgestone tyres all round. The black Porsche calipers also present well, retaining a glossy finish with no lacquer peel to report.
HISTORY FILE
The 911 was first registered in June 1994. It’s accompanied by an excellent maintenance record from new with services having been carried out at the following mileages: 2k, 5k, 8k, 13k, 19k, 24k, 32k, 38k, 40k, 43k, 49k, and most recently at 51k miles in November 2018. The last service was undertaken by Heritage AutoWerks at a cost of over £2k. The MOT is valid until November 2019.
