This great example has covered only 1000 kilometers following a full engine rebuild, the rebuild and fitment was carried out by John Price Rallying at a cost that is reflected to their status of with the Renault 5 brand. The investment was needed as the unit was not putting out the performance to my liking and the car needed to reflect the style it supports, the slightly modified engine rebuild now perfectly complements the performance and the look. To support the engine upgrade, the suspension has been completely swapped over to Bilstein and coils for the fronts and Bilstein for the rear, the set-up now allows the full potential of the car to allow for modern day driving with the opportunity to give you full confidence when enthusiastically attacking B roads!
Thousands of pounds have been spent over the last couple of years, there are too many invoices to mention the car, as you can see from the pictures the car supports the Turbo roof halo with a custom two part vinyl roof decal, the car does have age related marks on the paintwork and I would suggest that this is still the original white which has worn well, but for those who are looking for concourse, this is not it, but is truly a driver’s car who may wish to take it to the next level or just enjoy this incredible 80’s classic that does genuinely make you smile and brings many 40 somethings regaling the time they drove this crazy French model, albeit the UK version, Gordini.
