Ford 400E Thames Van.
Presented in grey with grey check vinyl seating, side loading door, camper conversion. heater, Tow bar, factory over drive, History from new.
This unusual van was delivered new to Mr George Button in 1962 at a delivery price of £520. 16 / 8 Mr Button had a tow bar fitted and internal camper conversion with pop up bed and tea table etc. The van was used by Mr Button to take his son an amateur racing driver motor racing and to tow his race car to various circuits. Where it became a familiar sight in the paddocks of various motor racing circuits in the 1960s & 1970s. John Buttons success is well documented and he became a motorsport legend. The van was then used to transport John's son Jensen in his early motor racing career, Jensen Button proceeded in to F1 where he became world champion.
George owned the van till he passed away when it was purchased by the second owner in 2005 a well known motor bike and motor racing driver.
The extensive history documents this vans life and very low mileage and includes her invoice when new in 1962, MOT tests back to the 1970s etc.
A very interesting opportunity to acquire a historic van with an interesting motorsport provenance.
