The auction will start at 12 noon with viewing from 9:30am to 4pm on Saturday 22nd June and from 9:30am on the day of the sale.
Lot 25 - A 1977 Mitsubishi Colt Galant 2000 GTO GS-R restoration project, registration number THK 808R, chassis number 3300387, engine number 52BB3917, red. The Colt Galant GTO GS-R is an extremely rare car on these shores. Introduced in 1973 the export GTO GS-R (Grand Sport & Rally) was only available in select right hand drive countries and featured unique factory fitted wheel arch extensions and modified front valance. The interior had a special leather trimmed steering wheel and an eight dial instrument panel. Power was supplied by a 2 litre straight four OHC engine mated to a five speed gearbox. The styling was definitely influenced by contemporary American muscle cars and there is a striking resemblance to Ford's Mustang. This extremely rare GTO GS-R is believed to be only one of three still registered on British roads. The car requires full restoration and has had the majority of the paint removed and stripped of bumpers and badging in readiness for a re-spray. It would appear that the car is complete apart from one wheel arch extension and the all important and unique badging is present. Having been in dry storage for over twenty years this junior GTO is ready to be restored to its former glory. V5C, no MOT
