Hello and welcome to the sale of this awesome Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution.
Only around 2500 of these very special vehicles were produced worldwide to homolgate the rally spec Pajero for off road racing, and it went on to cement Mitsubishi in motorsport history books with the most Dakar wins by any manufacturer. Of these 2500, around 80% were specified with the automatic gearbox. The remaining manual vehicles are now the ones collectors are turning towards for that extra rarity factor and drivability.
This particular example is a collector's dream. It has covered just 99k kms / 60k miles, and has been in careful hands since arriving in the UK in 2016. It has a lovely maintenance and history file, documenting all annual servicing and repairs, along with two cam belt changes, the latest being in 2024. There has also been consideration towards preventative maintenance including a full professional rust proofing treatment to the underside.
The metallic silver exterior is in pretty much immaculate condition, with the wild factory body kit all present and correct. It has a super cool set of bronze coloured Rays alloys, which are very hard to find and valuable in their own right. They are shod with BF Goodrich tyres with excellent tread, and look absolutely bang on, in our opinion. A useful tow bar has also been fitted.
The interior is also in lovely clean condition, with minimal wear and nothing broken or out of place. The original factory fit Recaro seats are present, and in excellent condition. A double DIN DAB radio has been fitted for increased connectivity.
The 275bhp 3. 5 V6 petrol engine starts instantly, and sounds fun and throaty through the custom stainless exhaust system, without being intrusively loud. On the road it performs well, with smooth power delivery through the slick 5 speed manual gearbox. Interestingly, the EVO model has a totally different steering, braking and independent suspension set up to the standard car, and are all as tight as you would expect and makes it really fun to chuck through a bend or over some bumpy bits!
To sum up, this is a very attractive, top collector grade example of a super cool car, in the best possible condition, with the most desirable gearbox configuration. Not only that, it is also practical and usable. I am sure the new owner will be as pleased as we are with it!
