It doesn’t drive like any other SUV from the 90s thanks to its unique independent rear suspension (ARMIE) and that high-revving MIVEC V6, it feels incredibly pointy and agile on the road. It has a presence that stops people in their tracks whether they are car enthusiasts or just curious bystanders.
I bought this car because I wanted the ultimate jeep and becauase of its rally history. Nothing feels more special than driving this down a country road and imagining you are on a rally stage.
I specifically chose to import this example from New Zealand in 2023 because it had major work carried out on it. Unlike many Japanese or UK imports that struggle with chassis corrosion, this car benefited from a kinder climate.
