Imported from France in 1993, this lefthand drive, Ripple Bonnet 2CV received a body off restoration by an enthusiast in 2009/ 10. The car was stripped to the bare bones and a rust free chassis and 602cc engine from a later car were fitted. The body received new floors, sills and a bulkhead and was painted and built up with numerous parts all of which is documented with invoices and photographs.
The has covered little mileage since changing hands in 2010 and remains in very clean, rustfree conditon. The underside is superb with no deterioration as is the bodywork. The paintwork is clean and decent and done to match the period rather than to concours quality.
The interior is all new and immaculate and a new hood was fitted during the rebuild. The car drives very well and has modern indicators fitted for safety along with seatbelts to the front.
Being a '56 car, the car has a ripple bonnet fitted and fabric trim down to the rear bumper rather a boot lid.
Needless to say, the 2CV is great fun. This one has the benefit of the later engine in an early body and is in excellent order.
