Description

For sale my early 98 Porsche 911 996 C2 Manual.

If you’ve done your research you’ll likely already know that the first year of the 996 is the most reliable of the range, they don’t suffer from the common IMS and bore score issues that later models suffered as Porsche cheapened production. Ferrous coated pistons and liners, dual row IMS bearing as standard, pity they hadn’t continued the 996 with that combination!
Couple that with simplicity like a cable operated throttle, no traction control and being one of the lightest 911’s for a long time, you’ve got a car that’s better to drive than many 911’s before and after.

Lovely Zenith blue, Manual C2, 110k miles, full Porsche and specialist history, Parr etc. Grey extended leather and sports seats, cruise control, AC, and a couple of period features like phone, CD Changer etc.

In very good condition throughout, it’s never had any accident damage or repairs, nice straight bodywork and consistent colour, recent front end repaint to a very good standard to rectify stone chips. No rust and the underside is the cleanest you’ll find, confirmed also by my local specialist. No rusty brake lines or seized bolts on this one. I treated it to a no expense spared full Dinitrol photographed 5 stage strip down and rust proofing treatment to ensure it stays that way, which I have a catalogue of pictures for.

Owned for 2 years, always garaged. I’ve spent a lot of time and money making sure the car is ready for any journey and it’s been fantastic. Recent works include, Serviced twice with Millers nanodrive 10w-50, spark plugs, 2 x o2 sensors, MAF sensor, brakes all round, Bridgestone Potenza’s all round, gearbox oil change, water pump and cooling system service. Uprated adjustable height and 30 way damping suspension with pillow-ball adjustable top mounts (comes with the original dampers and springs in good condition should you wish to return to standard) Uprated RS engine mounts, 997 shifter, stainless exhaust silencers and upgraded Intake. 993 RS rep wheels, I had these prep’d and an extra two coats of lacquer applied when brand new to keep them in good condition. It has had coffin arms and various suspension components in recent years also. Service history confirms also it’s been a very well looked after car.

Always treated with mechanical sympathy allowing it to properly warm up and cool down and generally used on decent length journeys only, after speaking to a couple of previous owners it would seem it’s been in similar care with them. Mechanically in excellent condition, clutch, gearbox and so on, never any smoke from exhausts hot or cold, condition backed up by oil analysis report and boroscope, it’s very healthy indeed.

Obviously it’s not a brand new car and is not concourse but it’s a very clean, sharp car especially for it’s age. Overall I’d say it’s a great future classic 911 that is ready to be enjoyed without the usual list of expenditures required when buying a second hand Porsche.

If the full asking price is met I will book the car in for a full service, mot and Inspection at my local Porsche specialist for the new owners piece of mind.
