Built on 12/ 2/ 1962 this is one of the very last of the 355 MKII BN7s produced with production ceasing at the beginning of March. As such it is one of less than 50 to originally receive the extremely desirable centre change gearbox, present and correct in the car. This car is provided directly from the private Rawles Motorsport/ Cluett collection. This Healey has covered just 3, 000 miles since restoration.
Finished in its original colour of Colorado Red with Ivory duotone. This MKII features chrome wire wheels and Black interior trim with Red piped Black leather seats. This is a very correct example, with its original engine and gearbox (the ratios on MKII BN7 gearboxes are different to later cars, so this is crucial for a purist). The paintwork and general condition of this car is very good, having been fully detailed this year.
In 2018 we have re-chromed the original bumpers, rebuilt the steering box, fitted new wheels/ tyres, fully refurbished the brakes, given the car a major mechanical and engine service including total gearbox refurb with new clutch, new steering wheel (original present also), The car is provided with many Rawles Motorsport Ltd upgrades including, heat insulation to gearbox tunnel (plus new carpet 2018), Revotec electronic fan, USB charge points and more.
This BN7 is a joy to drive. Built for race and rally homologation the rare tri-carb, two-seat setup is to many the best balanced 6-cylinder Healey built, verified through its competition success.
This car performed faultlessly at this year’s European Healey Meeting in the Black Forest, Germany and was one of around 10 cars chosen to be displayed in the hotel piazza parade. In our long ownership this car has been faultless and eternally reliable.
