Hi here is my beautiful Alfa Romeo Touring Spider 2600 builded in 1964. I enjoyed the car over the last 8 years very much. This Alfa was always a eyecathcer with every classiccar meeting I took part and made me always the best places for parking. All old car freaks heard about my car: but no one ever saw one. When my Alfa was present, he stole the show to all this Mercedeses and Porsches. So the Carrozzeria Touring in Turin as coathbuilder did a marvellous job and maintained all the details of the Ferrari, Maserati and Lamborghinis of these times to the Alfa. But it is what it is with these handmade coachtes; sometimes it is a little crooked dued to Luigigi welded on the left side of the coatch and Henrico to the right side. The legend goes that all cars exported to Germany with Alfa Romeo factory got a big D for Deutschland: it meant for Salvatore tighten all screws.
All in all it is a very awesome looking car which is really liked by all observers. The car has a very strong and fast engine for these times, but the italians were not so sophisticitaded with the landing gear. Every Mercedes of these time can do better, but let´s be honest the Alfa looks much better.
The Alfa goes more than 200km/ h, but I have to admit with 140km/ h I left courage. Technically I invested over the years a bunch of money in waterpump, steering gear, starter, transmission, cardan shaft, coupling, heat exchanger, carburetor, alternator, ignition distributor, brakes, heater and many more..... if you are intersted in details send me a message. And tatata the Alfa comes with a very rare hardtop. It was a horror the make the hardtop suitable to my Alfa. but it was worth every cent. With hardtop now it keeps up visualley with every Ferrari of the 60ties.
The coating of the Alfa is in good but not very good condition. Here and there the body was filled and therefore the coat has one or the other small cracks. The underbody of the car had to be welded at a few places, but all was done very well. While restoring the inner place of my alfa I discovered under the fut mat the original service book. Sometimes you have to have a pig. The trunk, the engine compartment and the headlights were also restored. The chrome is in a good to very good condition, sometimes a little spotty.
The birth certificate from Alfa Romeo Mailand with all the details of the delivery is available. Also a lot of resets and details to the history of the car.
Apropos, if I had a hard day with work, I sat always with a chair behind my Alfa Romeo: just staring at him. Then I did quickly much better.
