Description

RHD Datsun 240Z For Sale
Chassis No. – HS30-019**
Date of first UK registration - 01-01-1972.
Colour – Metallic Silver.
Mileage – 78, 000.

The vehicle was originally purchased in the UK before being exported to Botswana (papers are available) in early 1972 by the original owner who was serving in the RAF in the UK and upon learning that he was to be posted overseas he took the vehicle with him to Botswana. The first owner used the vehicle in regulation road rallies across Zimbabwe in his 14 years of ownership upon which time he sold the vehicle to the second owner who was an Englishman expatriated in Botswana working as the Workshop Manager in the Francistown Nissan dealership.

The vehicle was exported to South Africa in 1986 where it was registered with the Classic Z Register in 1990, in that same year the car suffered hail damage and a light restoration to repair the body damage was undertaken which took until late 1994 to complete and the engine was rebuilt at the same time. The vehicle was re-finished in a Nissan South Africa market-specific colour, Silver Jade metallic at the time of restoration.

The vehicle returned to the UK with its second owner in 2006 and was passed-on to Duncan Pearcy of the Z Farm in 2010. The vehicle found its third owner via auction at the Silverstone Auctions sale in 2010.

The vehicle has had only four owners in total from new, I acquired the vehicle in 2012 and I have owned the car for the past seven years.

As the vehicle was located in various hot & dry counties for the first 34 years of its life the vehicle has benefitted from a structural standpoint and is very solid with no signs of structural welding at all. There are signs of blistering on the rear arches, the bottoms of front corners of the doors and on the front wings. These areas that will require attention to complete the vehicle to the standard I would have liked if I was keeping the vehicle.

In my time as the current owner, the vehicle now carries numerous modifications mechanically:
