For sale is my Magenta TR6.
This car was owned by the CEO of Moss-Europe Ltd (the classic parts company in Feltham) and was professionally refreshed in 2000 as his leaving present for his services to the firm. It was a very comprehensive and extremely expensive job. The car was however in sound condition when this was carried out.
The owner subsequently retired to Southern France and took the car with him.
Historic vehicles of course now no longer require an MOT. I thought it better that I submitted the TR6 to my local garage for a test which it passed and is in place until October 2020.
The car drives extremely well and benefits from several upgrades carried out when it was overhauled. It has a very smooth and torquey stage two motor together with a tubular stainless manifold and full system. A Kenlow fan and electronic ignition was also installed. Additionally there is uprated front brakes, driveshafts and solid rack mounts. The suspension has been uprated all round with revised springs/ Koni's at all corners.
As you can see the body has been really beautifully executed and there is no rot anywhere. Wheel arch liners were fitted all round to prevent any corrosion in the usual vulnerable TR areas. The interior is original and very tidy save a replacement set of quality carpets and a Moto Lita. Also with the car comes a genuine factory hardtop and overdrive as optioned new. I have the original keys and handbook etc.
I just put the car into Enginuity in Acton for a full tune up. They are arguably the best in the business and the only garage I would ever entrust to do any work on a TR6 PI. They are experts on Lucas Injection which still remains a bit of a dark art. They suggested that a new "Sprint" metering unit was in order as well as a few other bits and bobs. With its stage 2 motor this is a potent machine. Probably around 180bhp. Ingenuity advised me that this is one very rapid TR6!
This is an extremely well sorted UK spec RHD TR6 in arguably the best colour! It looks utterly fantastic in Magenta with the roof down!
The car is currently stored at my underground car park in Notting Hill W11 near my office and can be viewed there anytime. It is very well lit and secure.
