As BMW Airhead specialists, its rather unusual for us to have one of these little Nortons in stock, although it has to be said that we’ve had a couple previously, and they’ve proved very popular.
This particular bike, as you can see, is the De Luxe model , complete with the factory streamlined kit. The very rare bodywork, although a little dented in places, is very solid, and the paintwork is quite presentable.
There is a large history file to accompany the bike, and it includes a maintenance manual, old MOTs, original green log book, various expenditure invoices, and a copy of the Norton owners club factory record, confirming the matching numbers.
With some fresh fuel and a charged battery, she coughed and spluttered into life, showing a good oil return and compression. She’s cearly in need of a thorough re commission and tune up, but what a great basis for a light winter restoration, and at this price, surely a gilt edged investment.
