I have owned this 1948 Triumph Roadster 1800 since 1969 when it was registered in my home town of Bristol (UK). At that time it could be described as a “rough runner”. I brought the car with me to Dublin in 1971 where I re-registered it under an Irish vintage registration number ZV6172. I still retain the original UK registration details. I was driving the car regularly from 1969 through the ‘70s and early ‘80s. I decided to commence a full ground-up restoration in 1991. Over the course of the next 10 years the body was removed, the chassis stripped, sandblasted and painted, new ash frames procured and fitted to the body panels, all brightwork stripped and rechromed, full suite of new Connolly leather upholstery including door cards and dickey seats, new carpets, new lined double duck hood, stainless steel exhaust, fully reconditioned engine, new clutch, and the entire car was resprayed in its original black colour. The dashboard was restored in original maker’s specification european walnut, and all all instrumentation was reconditioned including dial faces.
The car has been meticulously maintained, mainly by myself, since the restoration, and always garage stored. In recent years the brakes have been fully overhauled with new linings, new wheel bearings fitted, front suspension bushes replaced, all roadsprings reset, and a newly reconditioned engine was fitted approximately 1500 miles ago.
I have the full restoration history with lots of pictures and various receipts which can be emailed on request.
The car, which is located in Dublin, Ireland, is offered for sale very reluctantly due to imminent loss of garage space.
