Optioned with perforated leather upholstery, highly polished burr walnut veneers, lockable burr walnut centre console, SRS drivers airbag, upgraded Pioneer stereo & C. D. player, automatic transmission with switchable Sports/ Economy modes, 15' eight hole light alloy road wheels, electric windows, electric seatbelt butlers, electric mirrors, tinted glass, top tint windscreen & all of the usual Mercedes Benz equipment
EXTERIOR:
Finished in Bornite mica pearl, a very highly prized colour option. Coveted facelifted model for the 1994 range that includes a redesigned interior, smaller radiator grille & repositioned bonnet mascot, smoked/ clear lamp units, chrome bumper inserts & upgraded alloy road wheels. This twenty - three year old example is offered unrestored & excatly as discovered after nearly a decade in storage. When removed from storage, the bonnet had been previously removed, this was located & reunited with the car although there is various imperfections to note. She has the benefit of allowing the new keeper to put their own mark on her in in any direction.
INTERIOR:
Optioned with contrasting Light Mushroom perforated leather upholstery. The leather upholstery is original throughout & has a nice overall patina, only requiring cleaning & hide food to remain soft & supple. As with all collectable & classic cars, it is highly regarded to retain the original leather hides wherever possible to retain integrity & value.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION:
This E220 Coupe was specified with the 2199cc inline four cylinder petrol engine mated to the switchable automatic transmission resulting in a very smooth driving experiance.
This 'C124' has been in storage since 2011, she was a daily driver until being parked & has sadly not turned a wheel since! Upon arrival at our Wimbledon workshops, we have not had the engine running but have turned her over by hand & is free.
HISTORY FILE:
As mentioned previously, this December 1993 registered E220 Coupe has been stored off road since 2011. The last MoT test was carried out in November 2010, since then she has covered less than a thousand miles. The current owner was indeed driving the Coupe as his daily driver until ill health forced his decision to decommission her.
She has been owned by a local Mercedes Benz '124' enthusiast that has regrettably decided that his beloved Coupe should be passed on to someone who will recommission & enjoy the car.
