The MG TC was the first postwar MG launched in 1945. The “T” series was very popular amongst younger generation.
The TC is very similar to the pre-war TB sharing the same 1250cc engine however with a slightly higher compression ratio upping the power 40kw and through the addition of a hydraulically oil pressure adjusted timing chain tensioner. This was a very tuneable motor of that era where even the makers provided information for several alternative stages of tuning. Even so, the XPAG engine is well known for reliability. A Notable feature was the automatic mechanical timing advance was built into the ignition distributor. All TC’s came with coveted 19” Dunlop wire wheels.
Only 10 000 MG TC’s originally made. Most were exported to the United States, even though TC’s were only build in right hand drive.
This car is one of the last to roll of the production assemble as number 9494. A stunning Midget that is in good condition. The motor runs really well with a lovely purr inside a clean engine bay. The paint isn’t perfect for this old girl, but it is a perfect colour combo in British Racing Green over black leather.
