Selling my awesome Camaro IROC as I need to free up some space. Last year I had it on show at ‘Stars & Stripes’ Tatton Park. The journey ‘cross country’ was just awesome, and on the open road, the fuel consumption was surprisingly good!
It is a genuine IROC-Z 350ci 5. 7litre V8 with the 4 speed auto 700r4 gearbox and limited slip diff.
The car includes the following:
- Numbers matching
- 118k miles (will increase slightly as I do use it)
- Electric windows
- Power steering
- Central locking
- Cruise control
- Electric drivers seat
- Soft close hatch
- Auto dimming rear view mirror
- 4 wheel power disk brakes
- Full gauge package
- 12 Months MoT
The Camaro comes with a load of history and paperwork, including MoT certificates proving its mileage. The Camaro was first registered 30/ 03/ 1987 and registered in the UK on the same date, so it has been in the UK all its life. Again, paperwork to prove.
Since I have had the car, I have carried out the following work:
- new exhaust headers & full OE exhaust system
- all lights rewired and put back to OE spec
- Dual cooling fans set to OE spec, new relays, switches and pigtails
- cooling system all new; new radiator, hoses, water pump, thermostat, heater hoses, heater core. All new, system flushed.
- New brake master cylinder, new front brake hard lines, new rear calipers and pads, new brake fluid, handbrake works properly
- Ignition System, new ICM, distributor cap & rotor and leads
- LS Diff: new oil & LSD additive, gasket
- new OE front tyres - 245/ 50 R16
The not so good parts:
- Could do with some spray work as the paint is showing its age, some scratches around the car, stone chips
- The interior; the roof lining is coming off (hanging)
- Valve guides are worn, as sometimes it smokes a bit on start up
- a bit of rust and corrosion around the car (no holes or rot)
The Camaro has just received a new MoT with only 2 advisories:
1) passenger side inner sill corroded outside prescribed area
2) rear steel brake pipes rusty
Not bad considering it’s 33 years old!
It drives absolutely lovely, starts on the key and sounds how a V8 should. It’s a pleasure to drive and attracts attention wherever it goes. The gearbox is quiet and shifts effortlessly. Everything inside the car works as it should.
I am a genuine seller, selling a genuine car. There are not many IROC’s about, much less with the 350 under the hood.
I know a lot about this car, having spent a lot of hours on it, so if you have any questions, do ask. I have loads of pictures and videos of the car and am happy to supply should you be interested.
Thanks for looking,
Chris
