This 2001 Lotus Esprit V8 LHD is a very nice example with only 43130 original miles. Finished in Caribbean Blue over a Navy leather interior with cream piping. The body and paint show very well with only two small chips in the nose panel. The original leather is nice and soft with no rips or tears. It was sold new in Illionois USA in july 2001 and then went to Palm Springs CA in May 2003. We acquired it there in August 2005 and brought it to Canada. It has never been driven in the rain let alone in winter since.
In 1996 Lotus launched the Esprit V8 twin-turbo. This was Lotus’ own Type 918 V8 engine, which is an all-alluminum 90 degree DOHC 4 valves per cylinder with a flat-plane crankshaft and twin Garrett AiResearch T25/ 60 turbochargers.
This 3. 5L 32 valve 350 hp V8 runs excellent and pulls strong. The 5-speed manual transmission shifts very well. The steering brakes and suspension are all in good working order, making this Lotus a pleasure to drive. The Esprit V8's are becoming very collectable and difficult to find. This car would make an excellent investment or addition to any collection.
