Offered for sale is this fantastic 1970 Ford Cortina Mk2 GT with something very very special under the bonnet.....
We purchased the car from a well known importer, who brought it in from South Africa. As a result, the bodywork and underside are in remarkable condition, with no rust anywhere. The paintwork and GT decals are in nice overall condition and the car is very smart and presentable. The interior is equally very tidy and comfortable, with all seats, carpet and dashboard in good condition and all gauges and switches working as they should.
All areas of the car have been thoroughly checked in our workshop, with numerous new parts fitted to brakes, suspension, steering etc wherever necessary, regardless of cost, with the car having passed it’s first UK MOT with no advisories.
Now for the best bit- the engine. We commissioned Harris Performance Engineering to build us a fast road spec engine. HPE have an unparalleled reputation built up over many years, and the new engine is testament to their lifetime of expertise. Now at 1660cc, and putting out over 130bhp, it’s a fast, smooth powerful unit, that also looks amazing in the engine bay. We asked HPE to have the engine run in and set up on the dyno to ensure the new owner can simply jump in, drive and enjoy
An immense amount of time, money, thought and attention has been lavished on this car with no expense spared.
Essentially this Cortina represents an excellent opportunity to own a smart rust free Mk2 GT with everything attended to, ready to use and enjoy, and with that envious advantage of a truly superb, freshly built, Harris engine!
It’s also at the the perfect point to springboard into further modifications to your choice and taste should you wish.
Please note: This car will be featured in an upcoming episode of Salvage Hunters Classic Cars with Drew Pritchard and Paul Cowland, however all filming has been completed and the car is ready for sale now.
Please get in touch if you wish to view or have any questions. Car is located just outside Banbury, Oxfordshire
