Here we have a beautiful Lotus Elan +2 that has undergone a full Spydercars Zetec conversion. This is a great opportunity to own a British classic sports car that has been upgraded to a more modern specification.
Spydercars are a well renowned Independent Lotus specialist who take the classic Elan and complete a full “chassis up” conversion giving the benefits of modern engine, gearbox and running gear.
This stunning example has benefitted from that full conversion and has a Ford Zetec 2 litre, DOHC 16 valve engine with Jenvey fuel injection and Emerald ECU. This runs through a Ford MT75 5 speed gearbox to a Ford viscous limited slip differential with solid driveshafts and twin cv joints.
The brakes are Hydraulic circuit servo assisted 4 pot Willwood with ventilated front and solid rear discs.
The Suspension is fully independent front and rear with Spyder wishbones incorporating coil spring damper units, fully adjustable with front anti roll bar.
This is all mounted on a Spydercars steel spaceframe chassis, splayed front and rear, shot blasted, zinc-based primer and coated with 2k enamel paint. An example picture of a Spydercars chassis with Zetec engine mounted is shown in this advert.
The wheels are Minilite 4. 25” bolt on, 6J x 14”

Moving away from the technical side you have a stunningly presented example of the marque in excellent condition. The upholstery is finished to a very high standard in cream leather with blue piping, This is all very well set off by the dark carpets and walnut dashboard.
The car runs and drives superbly and Spydercars have taken the already brilliant original Elan and enhanced it.
