In 1999, to celebrate fifty years of Land Rover, the company produced the 50th Anniversary Limited Edition with a 4. 0 litre V8 petrol engine and four speed ZF automatic gearbox. They all came in Atlantis Blue and had air conditioning, County trim with six seats, grey Boost alloy wheels, an internal front Safety Devices roll cage with the bulkhead delete, a NAS rear bumper, chequer plate, and a rev counter.
This 50th, one of 385 UK cars, has been owned by two Land Rover enthusiast brothers since 2002 and has covered only 49, 000 miles since new. It has been maintained by Land Rover specialists along with yearly engine oil and filter replacement when the low annual mileage didn't warrant a service.
It has a sunroof, an A bar in chrome with spotlights, central locking, seat belts front and rear, side steps, a central cubby box with a 50th Anniversary plaque and a Land Rover mudflaps all round. There are two keys with fobs and the 50th branded Dealer Book Pack is complete. Importantly, Ashcroft Transmissions have changed the LT230 transfer box to 1. 410 ratio to give the Defender more relaxed cruising, which is a common upgrade.
As one would expect with such low mileage and ownership, this 50th Anniversary Edition is in immaculate condition inside and out.
