Lovely classic Series 2 truck cab, owned for the last seven years, many new parts fitted including:
New braided Autosparks wiring loom
New rear half chassis and front dumb irons
New electronic distributor and coil.
New fuel pump
New thermostat
New dynamo
Rebuilt carburettor
Rebuilt bulkhead
Some new seals
The car has been sympathetically restored, keeping as many of the original features as possible. The truck cab is fitted but requires painting. The car runs and drives but does require some final finessing and finishing off. Paintwork is the usual Land River ‘rough and ready’ standard and not a professional job. Plenty of dents in the panels but all are sound with minimal corrosion.
Many of the correct Series 2 features have survived including the original engine with the correct early casting head with bellows type thermostat. Engine runs very sweetly and starts very easily. Other early features include:-
Three bolt tail gate hinges
Bolt on vent flap hinges
Turn type vent opening knobs
Correct front panel and radiator.
Overall a very nice complete little truck which needs some further finishing and attention to detail. Many of the fastenings are non original and some pattern parts have been used. With further work this would make a great classic to own and it’s value could easily be significantly increased. Selling due to planned house move and lack of space, and sadly no time to work on or drive this lovely truck.
