We are delighted to offer this Jaguar E-Type Series III Manual V12 for sale. Purchased by the previous owner in 1978, the E-Type formed part of a private museum/ collection for over thirty seven years before being purchased and re-commissioned by its current keeper in late 2014.
A noted ‘war bird’ pilot and engineer, the current owner has a raft of bills and invoices for work completed which help demonstrate his meticulous attention to detail. Determination to make the E-Type drive and respond as well as possible, resulted in all mechanical items including engine, gearbox, subframes and axle assemblies having been either completely rebuilt or replaced.
This work is evidenced by the extensive history file which contains recent invoices totalling almost £30, 000 for work completed by respected names such as Twyford Moors and Winspeed. These invoices help show that the car has been the subject of much time, care and attention over the past five years and MOTs going back to 1978 help to prove the mileage shown as being correct.
The current owners intention has been to bring the mechanical aspects of the car up to scratch and provide effortless and trouble free motoring. Additional works completed include various electrical upgrades as well as enhancements in addition to the fitment of a Webasto sunroof and new leather seats to aid comfort on long journeys.
Finished in Primrose Yellow with black leather interior, aspects of the exterior bodywork would require attention to bring the cosmetic side up to par with the mechanicals. As such this E-Type offers fantastic value and is one of the best manual V12’s I have experienced – the car is both usable and hugely enjoyable to drive.
