1983 De Tomaso Pantera GT5\
Our De Tomaso Pantera was imported from Italy by an South African agent at the time.
The cars were all imported CKD, without engines and drivetrains, so most of the South African Pantera’s had different engines and configuration.
International Panteras were typically built with Ford Cleveland 351 small block V8’s, our car is fitted with Chev big block V8 454.
It is anyway relatively easy to fit a 351 engine so that the car can be the same as the rest of the world.
Our Pantera is the last of the Pantera’s and is called a GT5, wider, more aggressive body and rare in RHD.
