1956 MGA Roadster - 4 Speed Manual - Original UK Right Hand Drive
Finished in Old English White with Tan Leather Upholstery, Black Wool Carpets, Tan Vinyl Hood, Tan Tonneau Cover, New Side Screens.
This wonderful example of an early Roadster dates to one of the first 500 MGA's produced at the Abingdon Factory and dispatched to Colmore Depot in our home town of Worcester UK.
Purchase by its last owner as a genuine dusty "Barn Find" a decade or so ago it became an obsession to restore and replicate the example
he remembers from his youth !.
Whilst hundred of hours were invested by the owner the main works were sub-contracted out to the "Best in the Land" the Bodyshop entrusted with the Body-Shell have Bentley Authorised Repair Accreditation and have prepared a bodyshell which is as straight as a die and has body-shut lines which are simply to die for and way beyond what was achieved from new - the paint-finish is superb and is simply a joy to behold - MGA Guru Bob West was commissioned for the trimming and weather gear and again the standard of workmanship is sublime. The Engine and Gear-box were entrusted to MGA Marque specialists for rebuild and names that I know and respect for the standards of their work. The Engine is bored to 1516 cc size and has had the flywheel assembly lightened and balanced, the cylinder head has been modified for unleaded fuel and to achieve a 9 : 1 compression ratio, a piper 255 camshaft has been fitted and the engine currently runs with a Weber Twin Choke Carburetor - albeit the Original Twin SU Set-up is present and suppled with the vehicle. The Wheels are the Standard 4J Steels and wear modern 255 radials, the braking system is as original specification.
The Restoration works were completed a couple of years ago but the car has only received test drive runs and has been in climate controlled storage so remains fresh and perfect. We have identified a few minor snagging jobs to do on the car, mainly those that involve drilling holes but we will order parts and undertake those minor jobs in due course.
This really is a first class opportunity to purchase an original UK MGA which has had all of the hard work completed to a top draw standard circumventing years of heartache to attain a vehicle ready to go. We do have our own workshops and are not too shy on our ability to undertake works to a high standard so we can accommodate individual tailoring requests to further complete or personalise this vehicle to your own requirements - if required.
Did I mention the bodylines and door shuts are perfect .... I guess I already did ..... well its worth mentioning again as they are "that good" !
