This particular model truck was produced for 1937 only. What makes it so special is that 37 was the first year this truck could be ordered with a choice of 2 flathead V8 motors. Either a 60hp or an 85hp version. This is the light duty 60hp version. Each model had the relevant badge on the hood side.
This is original in every way, it still has its cable operated brakes, hydraulic brakes were not introduced in Ford trucks until the following year.
I also have a reprint of the original sales brochure for this year truck showing all the options.
This truck was owned from new by a farm in North Dakota. It has spent the last 40 years slumbering in a barn. Last on the road in 1961!
Until now. She has been woken from her sleep. Still powered by 6 volt electrics she starts runs drives and stops very well for an 83 year old. The flathead motor fires straight up , sounds sweet as a nut and does not make any untoward sounds or emit any smoke. She has had a new fuel tank fitted and electric fuel pump and various other bits and bobs to make her run well. It drives well and all gears engage as they should.
It is a very up together truck, it did have a few rust patches that we have now attended to so she's rock solid. The tailgate is missing but correct quality steel reproductions are available for around £300
The truck also comes with a complete set of new cab glass in the sale.
That's it really. I cannot emphasise just how rare and desirable this model year / specification truck is. These pre-war trucks are extremely scarce. It is a straight forward project really only requiring recommissioning/ servicing and going through .
The truck is now road registered with V5 and black/ silver plates fitted.
In nearly 20 years of importing US trucks this is the first original all together example of this period truck I have found.
It will not be going cheap, they are only original once. Find another , I very much doubt I will find another in the next 20 years. The advertised price is "as is" , I can do more work to her if desired. The more we do the more money she'll be!
Genuine serious enquiries please call Pete for an in depth description. Please be sensible with your expectations, this is an 83 year old truck and will as such drive like one.
"I'll give ya 14 grand mate" and similar comments will not provoke a response at all.
ORIGINAL OLD TRUCK PRICES ARE ONLY GOING ONE WAY. DON'T PROCRASTINATE, THEY'RE GETTING HARDER AND HARDER TO FIND LIKE THIS.
